SA Dance 2024

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of S.A. Dance Festival is to enrich lives through dance and share the diversity of quality dance with the community. We continue working to bring members of the dance community together to collaborate and foster relationships among artists, choreographers and educators offering a platform to exhibit their creativity and talent.

The 2024 San Antonio Dance Festival is a multi-day event, which will consist of a Youth Matinee Performance, a dance Showcase, and a Grand Performance. After our inaugural presentation of Planet Dance to a full theater at the Carver Community Cultural Center’s Youth Matinee Series, we are pleased to be a part of this multicultural and multidisciplinary series again in 2024. The Showcase is designed for artists to exhibit their creativity, talent, and cultural heritage and will give dancers the opportunity to perform their artistry to a broader audience. The Grand Performance will feature professional dancers performing a mesmerizing fusion of styles and techniques, promising to captivate and delight every audience member.

REQUISITES

The choreography should be new or presented for the first time in 2021 or 2022 (except classical variations). We aim for a presentation of high-quality repertory and the creation of new choreography that encourages creativity. Dance genres such as tap, folkloric dance, flamenco may need a portable tap board, therefore, please contact us before registering.

Age Range

From 7 years old to Professional Level

Time Limits

SOLO – Two Minutes

DUO/TRIO – Three Minutes

SMALL GROUP (4 to 6 Dancers) – Four Minutes

LARGE GROUP (7 to 9 Dancers) – Six Minutes

PRODUCTION  (10+ Dancers) – Ten Minutes
